A: This is really a matter of opinion as each are very different to drive.
it also depends on what your looking for because if your looking for a fast 4x4 its probably the porsche or the merc. however if you are looking for an off roading 4x4 then i would have to say the audi.
comfort would be the merc or the BMW. (x5)

my personal prefernce however would be the BMW x5 as i think this is by far the best looking of all the cars you have listed

Whatt?? looks like a smaller and sportier x5 which i would have bought but my my aunt has one and i didn't want to get the same car as her. The x6 is the hottest thing i've seen yet for 2008 and its anything but a mini-van!!

The point of this vehicle is to have a great driving SUV. It is fun to drive, but it offers none of the advantages of an SUV. Not much cargo room, cramped rear seats...
This car costs $2,000 more than the M3 sedan! If you want a car that's great to drive and is only semi-practical, why would you buy the X6 over the M3 sedan!?!?!?!!

you're wrong, they promote it as a fun to drive car, they basically say that it's a performance suv. fine in an x5 which is practical, but the x6 is ugly and impractical. it's too expensive for what it is, and like i said the people buying them are the ones looking for a driver's car.
at this price, why not go for the ultimate driver's car, the m3?
A: no i would never get an x6 in place of the m3.. well they arent even capable of being compared to each other since they are both 2 difrent cars.. basically m3 is more of a performance car and the x6 is more to the luxury side but the m3 your saying is 2000 less than the x6 im guessing thats probably the base price.. once you will put all the options and evrything.. it wil turn up prbbly in the mid 60sss

Put simply, it's a 911 fighter and an R8 killer I'm talking about. With their class-leading engines and chassis prowess, BMW should focus more on redefining the sports car rather than coming up with useless stuff like the X6 and 6-Series, which is pretty much a 5-Series with less doors, more price and weirder looking. This car is to be a notch above the Z4 and should be available in coupe or hardtop roadster versions.
